1. Application form, to be enclosed with unstamped additional envelope, to be used for issuing permits. 2. Upon submission obtain a permanent reference number, which is given to each importer when the first application is made. The reference number is to be used in all 3. The Import Permit (Form B) is issued upon satisfaction that an applicant for a permit under regulation 4 is a fit and proper person and that such person has complied with all the conditions specified for the issue of a permit he may authorize such person to import wheat flour on such conditions as may be specified in the permit.
Import permits are country specific (i.e. 1 country - 1 permit); Import permits are not issued for goods imported within the SACU region, and for goods from Zimbabwe and Malawi owing to their respective bilateral trade agreements with Botswana. A separate application form to be submitted in respect of each country of supply and each individual supplier. Goods must be grouped in classes and each class classification must be grouped separately on the application form. When the number of items warrant it, a separate form maybe used for each class of goods.
